Owoti was built to modernize urban transportation in Lira City by giving residents and visitors an easier way to request safe, reliable, and affordable rides through a mobile application.
Traditional transport often relies on phone calls, roadside negotiations, or uncertainty about pricing and availability. Owoti simplifies this experience by allowing passengers to request rides, view estimated fares, connect with verified drivers, and complete trips with confidence.
Starting in Lira City the commercial hub of the Lango Sub-region Owoti is laying the foundation for a scalable mobility platform that can expand to other cities across Uganda. As part of the Hakateq ecosystem, the platform aims to improve local transportation, support digital transformation, create employment opportunities for drivers, and strengthen urban mobility. Lira is an important commercial center in Northern Uganda, making it a practical starting point for building and testing the platform before expanding further.
